Sandra (Sandi)'s Story

I do not have an All Access Pass and can't read the classmates guestbook on this site; so, if you want to contact me, you can find me on Facebook as Sandi Bird Aldridge Back then: I wasn't at BEHS for more than about 2 years. While there I was in the Thespians, the Chess Club, and the Latin Club. I wasn't on anyone's popularity list. I helped build sets for the plays, worked on lighting, and occasionally played in a non-speaking part in a play...Fiddler on the Roof was my Fav! I didn't actually graduate from BEHS, as I moved away after I turned 16...then went on and got my GED in another state. I am happily married to the most wonderful husband I could ever ask for. We just celebrated our 7th anniversary as of this update in 2021. Over the years I've done lots of different things to produce an income, from working as a Licensed Practical Nurse to writing and consulting to website design to contracting with FEMA as a disaster housing inspector to house painting and construction and much more, but my life-long desire is to devote my time to taking the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world, impacting nations for Christ. My heart is to go to the areas where many people are too afraid to go: to smuggle Bibles into countries that are closed to the Gospel, to trek through the jungle to share the message of Jesus Christ with tribes that may have never even seen a white person, to minister in dangerous areas like the refugee camps in Uganda near where the LRA...Expand for more
commits their atrocities or in Iraq and Afghanistan. I believe that the only place to be is in the perfect will of God...wherever on earth that might lead me. Along with foreign missions, for which I have a definite passion, I have also been privileged to be engaged in ministry both inside the church walls and out in the community. I love to wander the world in my spare time, in search of adventure...which I have certainly found on four continents. My life has been very full and very blessed. Though most may not understand it, I feel that I am the most blessed person I know...and I give God all the honor and the glory. Blessings do not always manifest is huge bank accounts, fancy houses, and expensive cars. More important than that are the relationships that we foster along the way and the value that we add to the lives of those around us...the forgiveness that we extend to others, a seed from which in time we reap a harvest in our own lives. I am a survivor. I refuse to be a victim. I have loved much, laughed much, been hurt much, forgiven much and have chosen to keep believing the best in those around me...Even those who have caused me the greatest pain. I have seen things both good and bad that most people will never have the opportunity or the time to see, and in experiences I am twice my natural age. Most importantly, I have experienced and know the love and forgiveness of my Savior and in the end, that is most important. I am truly Blessed!
